Blue Coast Primary Care – Recruitment & Retention is proud to welcome Dr. Duncan Innes back to Sarnia, after many years of studying medicine and training abroad.
Dr. Innes was born and raised in Sarnia. He attended Wilfred Laurier University for his undergrad before his medical school journey took him to St. Kitts in the Caribbean. He then completed a three-year family medicine residency program at McLaren Macomb Hospital, which is affiliated with Michigan State University. He has additional training in lifestyle medicine, which has also resulted in his recruitment to the Triad Weight Management Clinic in Sarnia.
Innes’ wife and daughter resided in Sarnia while he was training in Michigan, so Sarnia was a natural place for him to return to. “I’m excited to be returning to my hometown to practice and grateful for the opportunity to give back to a community that has given me so much throughout the years.” Said Innes.
Dr. Innes has been in communication with Blue Coast Recruiter, Carly Cox and many local physicians since medical school. He was the first recipient of Blue Coast’s Visiting Elective Program in his 4th year of medical school back in 2019. “Sarnia’s medical community has played an important mentorship role for Dr. Innes, which has led in part to his decision to practice here.” says Cox. “I’m so proud to have been provided the opportunity to help bring him home to Sarnia.”
Dr. Innes will begin practicing in mid-August but will start accepting new patients on Tuesday July 25th. His office will be located at (Dr. Uppal’s previous office space) at 239 George St. in Sarnia. Those that wish to become a patient of Dr. Innes’ can visit:
