Who KNEW That Lawnmowers Could Race This Fast! Super Saturday Night Family Fun!

Catch The Western Ontario Outlaws Lawn Mower Races This Saturday - Green Flag Drops At 4pm! Plus 5 Other Races This Fall!

My husband and I gathered with our family at the track a couple of weeks back, ready to witness the action on Oil Heritage Line in Petrolia. It was a family affair, alright – my sister, her husband, and their kids were all racing!

We arrived at the Petrolia race track just before the green flag dropped at 4 pm. Rick and I grabbed our lawn chairs, but you can opt for a blanket, back your vehicle in and tailgate, or snag a bench – just don't forget those snacks!

Engines roared to life as the races kicked off, turning ordinary lawnmowers into lightning-fast racers zooming around corners with mind-blowing speed. The thrill was infectious, and we couldn't help but get swept up in the excitement, cheering for our favorite mowers as they charged toward victory.

But it wasn't just about the heart-pounding action. The event also provided the perfect setting to unwind and soak in the beauty of a simple summer evening.

In a world that often races by, these lawnmower races served as a powerful reminder that joy can be found in the most unexpected places. Engaging in community events like this strengthens our sense of belonging and togetherness.

So, the next time you crave an evening packed with excitement and connection, don't hesitate to attend these races.

Check out the schedule for the remainder of the season!

The Western Ontario Outlaws Lawn Tractor Racing Club

Lawnmower racing is a fun, family friendly event and alcohol-free. The club has racers ages 5 to 75, both male and female. They are a non-profit club that donates annually to charity.

Lawnmower racing is popular in the U.S. but the sport is catching on in Canada! There’s no prize money in the sport, called the “poor man’s NASCAR,” and machines can reach 100 km/h with engines having from 8 to 90 horsepower and cost from $500 to $5,000 to build depending on the racing class.
